There is no better feeling then being a mother! The responsibility placed on us as mothers adds so much depth and excitement to a life so centralised on self – then all of a sudden (well after nine miraculous months) someone matters so much that your mind is constantly clouded with endless possibilities of what you can do to satisfy this beautiful little person who depends 100% on you.
God chooses wisely – some abuse this blessing while others live for it – cherish it like their very own lifeline. God did not mistakenly place us in this position of influence – NO – we are handpicked and our children are a direct reflection of the glory of God in our life.
Every morning * smiles from these innocent souls! How gratifying is such – how cleansing it is to know that each morning your star will smile up at you – mother! No blemish…mornings are that more important – each day a developmental milestone for both mother and child
As a mother something changes within you – all of a sudden you see the world as a place to protect baby from – all of a sudden you feel like a superhero. The bad elements you nurtured within you are somehow burdensome – you want to detox your life of the meaningless and include the meaningful – all of a sudden your future counts – you aim to make life a comfy bed of roses for your child – you are motivated by the purest love to cater to your baby’s innocent little being.
You no longer want to fight, you no longer want to feel distressed – you cannot be bothered to hold that grudge – you really have no time to deal with opinions of all – you have no energy to invest in pretence – you just want your time to be renewed and used wisely to inspire your child
Motherhood is beautiful – a beauty to cherish…a unique jewel to keep safe from the elements
Becoming a mother is a life changing event – a duty post with no expiry date – you will always be mother in the present and when your time is up on this earth * you are still Mother…

How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son. Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth. It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life. (Ephesians 1:3-14 MSG)
*just had to share- sink in the promises of our Lord and peace of the Lord will consume all that troubles you*
Worrying is not faith.
Sometimes I find myself lost in relentless worry – especially about things that are not even realistically possible – can you imagine the painful experience of worrying about nothing! It hurts the mind!
I now regard worry as a naïve form of procrastination – especially when one worries about something or someone they have no business with – isn’t that just a pure waste of useful time.
Worrying can really choke the life out of an individual – and lead on to very unfair and selfish thoughts. Society has conditioned us to believe that worry is a necessary tool in life – for instance television adverts that chant on about sickness and reasons why we must become obsessed with the tiniest of details.
A common UK message via advertising on television- “1 in 4 of you will be diagnosed with cancer.” What a shock right? In the middle of watching your favourite tv show and this government message is delivered! 10 seconds of a message about cancer has the power to lead an individual into an array of different thoughts, possibilities and what if’s. Suddenly every body pain experienced may in your mind be linked to cancer and obviously linked to that morbid advert. The vicious cycle of worrying begins…just imagine having such an advert shown 7 to 10 times a day.
My reaction to such messages these days – is an instant rejection of the words spoken – and we should all react in this way to such negativity.
I have come to realise that worrying “does not empty tomorrow of its troubles – it empties today of its strength” (anon)
Why waste valuable time holding on to a non-existent tomorrow – all we have is today – today is our gift and we must learn to appreciate it. The new gift of life is our ‘next day’ – it is new so why worry so much about it – it has not even had time to evolve yet and we are busy worrying about it.
I write this piece as a therapy to myself as well as to you – if worrying is holding you back in life – just let go and live that joyous life Jehovah has intended for us. Remember that “I (you) can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Let’s live our days in satisfaction and enjoyment – knowing that we have been gifted another day to live!
My personal solutions
1. write down my fears/worries (from this I define which issue I can deal with now or ones that are unrealistic)
2. Talk about my issues (I know it may seem easier said than done – but this really helps)
3. Read the Word of God – our comfort
